A. Crossroads implementation and Planning Body workplan
This is a continuation of the discussion from the April meeting about the status of the Access To Justice related initiatives arising from the Judicial Crossroads report and the role of the Planning Body in implementing the Crossroads recommendations. The agenda will also include a more detailed discussion of three of these initiatives---indigent criminal defense, the Solutions on Self Help Task Force, and Language Access.
B. Developments in Indigent Criminal Defense (Dawn Van Hoek and Bridget McCormack)
An update on the state of indigent defense services in the state, including a discussion of ongoing litigation, legislative initiatives, future plans, and organizational work.

D. Developments in Language Access (Candace Crowley, Susan Reed)
A discussion of the proposed ABA Language Access Standards, the ongoing work of the SCAO Workgroup on this topic, and the recent DOJ investigation of Michigan practices in this area.

We want to keep the Planning Body informed about these issues.
Presenters are invited to give written or brief oral reports. We appreciate written reports that can be distributed before the meeting.
