A. Update on SB 743 and the Supreme Court Task Force on the Mandatory Bar (Lori Buiteweg, et al.)
The Task Force report was issued on June 2 and has generated a great deal of discussion within the Bar. The Court established a comment period that ends on August 4. We hope to circulate draft comments for the Planning Body's consideration before the meeting.
B. Report on the Detroit Bankruptcy Case

D. Amicus Update and discussion of recent Michigan Supreme Court decisions
There have been a number of decisions issued recently in cases where the Planning Body appeared as amicus or that the group was otherwise following. These cases include In re: Sanders, People v. Cunningham, and the Juvenile Life without Parole cases.
We'll review the decisions from the amicus list, but will also include a discussion of the impact of the Sanders, Cunningham and Juvenile Life decisions.
III. Updates. On the other areas that the SPB has been following, we are inviting written reports prior to the meeting or brief oral reports at the meeting. Please let us know if you would like to give an oral report at the meeting.
We have noted some issues where there have been developments and we are expecting a report. If you feel like you need more than 5-10 minutes for an in person report or if you would like to move a topic from the shorter report to the longer report section of the agenda, please contact Bob Gillett at email@example.com . If you have written materials, please send them to Bob electronically.
A. Longer Updates
