Agenda with materials
I. Welcome; introductions (Denise Page Hood)
II. Discussion Items
A. Fines, Fees, and Costs; the State Court Administrative Office Collections Project.
The "fines fees and costs" issue has been an ongoing issue before the SPB. The ACLU recently published a national study on this issue. The SCAO has instituted a collections process this year. Beth Barber from SCAO, the Project Manager of the Supreme Court Collections Project will report on that project; Jessie Rossman from the ACLU will update the Planning Body on ACLU research and activities.

B. Judicial Crossroads process.
At our last meeting, the Planning Body adopted the Access to Justice Committee Report to the State Bar Judicial Crossroads Task Force as an updated State Plan. Since July, there has been ongoing work on the overall Crossroads Report. While there aren't additional materials available as of this date, the Committee is meeting on October 22. We'll update the SPB on the Crossroads process and share any materials that become available.
C. Planning Body Leadership Review
At the last meeting, we requested recommendations for new members to the SPB and volunteers for the agenda committee. We received a number of recommendations that are summarized in the attached memo.
III. Reports, Updates, Information Sharing
We want to keep the Planning Body informed about these issues. We're expecting in-person reports on items A through F. Reports in other areas are optional and we'd like to keep each individual report to 5 minutes if possible. Written reports or links to materials are appreciated.
If you feel like you need additional time for your report, please contact Evetta Adams at LAD (313-967-5555, ext. 5604; Eadams@ladadetroit.org) and we will schedule that time. If you have written materials, please send them to Evetta electronically.
